I am not sure what is going on around here, but we just can’t seem to get healthy. As soon as the sick ones are finally on the mend, the healthy ones get hit. It is a vicious cycle that I am tired of. Plus, I would really like a nice warm day–not 55 degrees nice, but 75 degrees nice. Is that too much to ask? I know the answer to that one. At least we have plenty of shows tivo-ed to keep us busy. This tv season has been good to us. There are so many shows that I almost can’t keep up. I can’t say that I only watch shows that are worth my time, but I am entertained nonetheless. What are you watching?
Birthday Party and Stats February 4, 2009
Sunday was the big party with the family. We celebrated the birthdays of Roxie, Jack, and myself. Since our birthdays are within a week of each other, it made things much easier than having to meet up with everyone three times in one week. Besides, everyone would be really burned out on parties by the time mine came around. We blew out candles, at cake and ice cream, and opened presents.
Roxie went to her 1-yr checkup on Monday. She is nearly off the charts for height (31.5") and a nice 23lb 4 oz. She is much squishier than Alice was at her age. Plus, she is nearly one inch taller than Alice was at her age–odd because we thought Alice was crazy tall at one. Roxie got a shot and lived. She’s just as tough as Alice is–except when it comes to teething. Her 4th tooth finally poked through her gums yesterday (3 on bottom, one on top). She’s been standing by herself for a few weeks now and is close to taking some real steps. Roxie still loves licking and sucking on everything in sight–it was never a phase for her, it’s more like a way of life. She says a handful of words, but her first one was "hot". Whenever she gets near the oven or fireplace she shouts it. She also barks and hoots at any animal she finds. Right now every animal is a dog. I forgot how fun it can be when they start discovering life. I can’t believe it has all went by so fast!
